Grand National Assembly (TBMM)

The Grand National Assembly of Türkiye is the legislative body of the Republic of Türkiye established in Ankara on April 23, 1920, and exercises legislative power and oversees the executive. Its president has been Numan Kurtulmuş since 2023.

TBMM report: 914 of 14,878 written questions answered on time

According to the Grand National Assembly (TBMM)'s 28th Term 4th Legislative Year Activity Report, only 914 of the 14,878 written questions submitted to parliament were answered within the legal deadline. 5,395 motions remained unanswered even though their deadline had passed.

Bill: thin cigarettes to be scrapped, no cigarette sales to those born after 2015

A bill prepared as part of the fight against tobacco plans to ban cigarette sales from 2040 and prohibit sales to those born after 2015 for life. The bill is expected to be submitted to the Grand National Assembly (TBMM) in October.

The Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Committee Investigating the Causes of School Attacks visited İnci Üzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Manisa Turgutlu, where 11 students were injured. Committee Chair Yusuf Beyazıt gave information about the work.
