Özgür Özel is a Turkish politician and pharmacist who is the founder and chairman of the YENİ Party. Özel, who has been a member of parliament for Manisa in the Grand National Assembly (TBMM) since 2011, served as chairman of the CHP from 2023 to 2026.

Özel: Mansur Yavaş's candidacy is a very important option

YENİ Party leader Özgür Özel told T24 that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is a candidate "as long as he can legally be a candidate" and that Mansur Yavaş's candidacy is also "a very important option".
