Konyaalti Mayor Cem Kotan announced his resignation from the CHP. Kotan said the reason for his disciplinary referral was calling Özgür Özel "my chair" and attending congresses.
The CHP Central Executive Board had referred five mayors, including Kotan, to the disciplinary board yesterday with a request for definitive expulsion. Party spokesperson Müslim Sarı had said they took the decision on the grounds that work had been done for another political party.
