CHP expels Mezitli Mayor Tuncer from the party

The CHP Supreme Disciplinary Committee expelled Mezitli Mayor Ahmet Serkan Tuncer under Article 68/1-b of the party charter; the committee also removed the files of nine MPs who joined the YENİ Party from consideration. Tuncer said he found the decision, issued without granting him the right to defense, "unjust and unlawful."

Tuncer reacted to the decision, saying, 'I don't know what I'm accused of.' The board removed the files of 9 deputies who joined the YENİ Party from the agenda. The decision was based on Article 68/1-b of the CHP bylaws.
