The 15-classroom building of Ayser Çalık Secondary School in Onikişubat will serve as the District Directorate of National Education by decision of the Kahramanmaraş Governorship. In the armed attack on April 15, one teacher and nine students were killed and 15 students were injured; students continue their education at another school.
The building, which will serve where the 9 students who died in the attack carried out by 14-year-old İsa Aras Mersinli on April 15 were treated, had not opened in the 2026-2027 academic year. The school's students, closed at the request of parents, were transferred to Şehit Tebernuş Özler Secondary School. The new purpose of use was clarified with the governor's decision.
