DEİK calls for Type D visas for Turkish truck drivers

Fatih Şener, head of the DEİK Logistics Business Council, said Turkish truck drivers are turned back at borders due to Type C visas. He noted that resolving the issue requires a Type D visa agreement with the EU and issuing 25,000 visas.

Şener stated that drivers who exceed their allowed stay are turned back, especially at the Croatian border, causing disruptions in shipments. Reminding that the C-type visa allows a maximum of 90 days stay in a 180-day period, Şener said some company owners have to drive the trucks themselves. An agreement with no day limit for visa-free passage was requested.
