YENİ Party Gaziantep lawmaker Melih Meriç announced he was discharged and in good health after a knife attack. He said the attacker harbored a grudge for not being appointed Oğuzeli district chair, and the attacker was arrested.
Meriç announced on social media that he will continue his recovery at home and that his health condition is good. Seydi Ahmet Keleş, who carried out the attack, was arrested and sent to prison. Meriç stated in his testimony that Keleş wanted to be appointed to the Oğuzeli district presidency but was not deemed suitable for the position.
