In Adana's Karataş district, Türkiye's first early cotton harvest has begun; cotton is finding buyers at 40 lira per kilogram.
The harvest began in areas near the sea in Karataş district. This year, cotton cultivation fell to 58,000 decares, while a yield of about 230,000 tonnes is expected in the region. Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture head Mehmet Akın Doğan asked for an increase in the support of 1,652 lira per decare.
