Borsa Istanbul announced that the uptick rule will apply to short sales in BIST 50 shares from 22 September transactions until further notice.
Under the uptick rule, short selling can only be executed at a price higher than the last traded price. If the last price is higher than the previous one, sell orders can be placed at the last price level. Intraday closing sales are also considered short selling.
