In the bribery and extortion investigation into Menderes Municipality in Izmir, 9 people, including former deputy mayor Erkan Özkan, were detained.
It was reported that technical staff and directors working in the municipality's zoning and planning units were also included in the operation. In the first wave, 10 people, including Mayor İlkay Çiçek, were arrested.
