National boxer Havvanur Kethuda won the gold medal by beating Russian opponent Kseniia Olifirenko in the women's +80 kg at the 2026 European Boxing Championships in Sofia. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Kethuda by phone.
Kethuda claimed her first major success in the senior category with the European title. Trabzonspor also congratulated the national boxer. Hatice Akbaş also took gold in the women's 51 kg at the tournament.
