UN Security Council

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the most powerful organ of the United Nations, tasked with maintaining security and peace among member states. Along with the International Court of Justice, it is one of two UN bodies with the authority to make binding decisions. This authority is defined in the United Nations Charter, signed by nearly all member states.

UN sanctions list to be announced on MASAK website

According to the communiqués of the Treasury and Finance Ministry in the Official Gazette, the UN Security Council sanctions list will be transmitted to MASAK through the Foreign Ministry and published on the institution's website. Obliged institutions will report these transactions to MASAK and take measures for postponement.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan argued in his Bloomberg article that abolishing the veto privilege is a condition for reform; he advocated ending permanent memberships and electing members for limited terms by the General Assembly.
