TAİK's 19th Türkiye Investment Conference to be held in New York

According to a statement by DEİK, 7 meetings will be held during the three-day conference; on 21 September, Türkiye's investment environment will be addressed in cooperation with Citi, and on 22 September, renewable energy, nuclear power, and LNG will be discussed at an energy roundtable.

TOKİ's 25% discount campaign covering 228,000 people starts on September 22

The campaign, offering a 25% discount to housing and business unit buyers who wish to pay off their debt in full, is expected to benefit 228,000 people. Applications for the campaign, which also includes partial payments, will be accepted between September 22 and October 19.

Istanbul Airport busiest in Europe, ranks 5th worldwide

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that, according to the EUROCONTROL report, Istanbul Airport was Europe's busiest airport on September 7-13 with an average of 1,643 daily flights, ranking 5th in the world with 829 departures.

Trade Ministry issues warning following claims of insurance mandate for iPhone sales

Some consumers alleged tech stores refuse to sell new iPhone models without purchasing additional comprehensive insurance or warranty packages worth roughly 28,000 lira (TL). EPDK sets 2027 electricity transmission surcharge tariff

The energy regulator EPDK decided on the electricity transmission surcharge tariff to take effect on January 1, 2027. According to the decision, the fee will not be reflected on subscriber bills as a new tax or service charge.

BDDK revokes operating license of Bank Mellat's Istanbul branch

With an 18 September decision by banking regulator BDDK, the operating license of Iran-based Bank Mellat's Istanbul Türkiye Main Branch was revoked under Article 71 of the Banking Law; the decision was published in the Official Gazette. New Welfare Party leader Fatih Erbakan criticized it.

Secure Payment System becomes mandatory in real estate sales on October 1

Under a Trade Ministry regulation effective October 1, 2026, sale amounts in real estate transactions will be held in a secure account until title deed transfer is finalized and then transferred to the seller's account upon completion.
