At the 82nd hearing of the İBB case, defendants not under arrest presented their defense; Babacan denied the bribery allegation and Karakaya denied claims that he had organized the tenders himself. At the hearing, non-custodial defendant Oktay Aktaş said his being held responsible for tenders in the indictment was a material error, as he was dismissed on the stated date. İmamoğlu asked former Deputy Secretary General Karakaya whether it was possible to run external loans with a 50-billion-lira corruption scheme. Karakaya said he had never heard of an organization or a system, which is why he continued to work at the municipality.
