State Theaters announced that retired actor Münir Canar died at the age of 81. Canar, a representative of the ortaoyunu tradition, had worked as both an actor and director.
The artist, born in Ankara in 1945, began working at the Ankara State Theatre in 1967. He won the Best Actor award for 'Kanlı Nigar' and was awarded a service award in 2014. He was known for his role as Katip Kerim in the series 'Kaynanalar' and was a lecturer at Çukurova University.
