YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel said in his speech following a march in Bursa that he had visited jailed Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey in prison that morning, and called on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to "come and let's renew the elections in Bursa."
Özel recalled that Bozbey won the 31 March elections with a margin of 167,000. "For the first time, the AK Party lost, and they did not accept this result," he said. He alleged that a plot was hatched to remove Bozbey from office.
