According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, as of August the number of electric cars registered in traffic rose 53.2% year-on-year to 472,157, accounting for 2.62% of the total 18,037,907 cars.
The increase was driven by the growing market share of Togg, the launch of new models and the proliferation of charging stations. The number of electric vehicles was only 565 in 2015, rising to 183,776 in 2024 and 370,591 in 2025. The increase in the number of hybrid cars is also notable.
