Tested in firing trials in Konya's Karapınar according to company statements, the 25 mm SMASH 300 will be used against surface threats as well as mini and micro UAVs; over 560 units in the SMASH family have been delivered to 18 countries, with a global market share of around 10%.
The new system has a 25 mm caliber and is the fifth solution of the product family first introduced in 2006. The weapon, carrying artificial intelligence support and ATOM Smart Ammunition integration, was tested against single and multiple targets consisting of land and mini drones. The company announced it aims for an innovative solution that will respond to the changing operational needs of different platforms.
