Chairing the UN high-level advisory board on Zero Waste, Emine Erdoğan called for changing consumption habits and strengthening international cooperation at the opening of Climate Week NYC.
Erdoğan said the Zero Waste movement has transformed individuals from passive observers into actors in the fight against climate change. Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş also attended the event. She described climate change as a consequence of the burden human activities place on the planet.
