The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reported that Türkiye generated 442.2 terawatt-hours of electricity from solar and wind power between 2015 and 2025. This generation was stated to have prevented $21.5 billion in coal imports and 354 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
According to ministry data, electricity generated from solar and wind in 2015 was 11,847 gigawatt-hours, and this figure increased significantly over the decade. While production reduced dependence on imported resources, it also provided environmental gains. The data was shared on World Zero Emissions Day.
