The ministry provided psychosocial support to more than 26,000 people following forest fires and other disasters in the January-September period.
The service is provided by teams consisting of social workers, psychologists and psychological counsellors. The teams work in the field from the rubble site to tent cities, from hospitals to temporary shelter areas. Since the practice began, it has been activated in 329 disasters and emergencies.
