Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that Türkiye plans to put its first small modular reactor into operation in the early 2030s. He made the announcement at the Türkiye Investment Conference in New York.
Bayraktar stated that TÜNAŞ signed a cooperation agreement with USTDA in the field of SMRs. He said they are working on an incentive regulation for SMR investors.
