The Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC), Ünal Üstel, condemned the statements made by Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Hristodulidis against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the UN podium. The KKTC Foreign Ministry also announced that it "strongly condemned" Hristodulidis's words regarding Cyprus.
Üstel said, "If hypocrisy is being sought in Cyprus, the address is clear: the Greek Cypriot leadership in the south and those who unconditionally applaud it." In its written statement, the Foreign Ministry argued that Hristodulidis distorted the facts and made baseless accusations.
