The subsidised electricity consumption limit for households is set to be reduced from 4,000 kilowatt-hours to 3,500 kilowatt-hours in 2027. The new limit is expected to be announced in October.
The energy administration is preparing to determine the new consumption limit under the last-resort supply tariff, known publicly as the "tiered tariff". In September, regional consumption data had been requested from distribution companies. Former acting TEDAŞ General Manager Osman Nuri Doğan said the current limit corresponds to an average monthly bill of 986 lira.
