The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) Prime Ministry announced that the bodies of 2 more people were recovered in the ship accident off Girne. The death toll rose to 17, while 11 people are still missing.

The bodies were found about 1,000 metres from the wreck at a depth of 570 metres. DNA examinations were launched to determine their identities and whether they belong to the missing passengers. Seabed search efforts are continuing.
