Latest in the series Police examine VAR recordings at TFF in referee probe

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that six suspects, including Central Referee Committee Chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu, were detained as part of the Referees File. The investigation also covers alleged interference in referee lists and exam results.

Allegations of mobbing and forgery of official documents against the suspects are being examined. The prosecutor's office evaluated complainant and witness statements along with expert findings. The operation was also conducted to seize evidence of the crimes.

  1. Police examine VAR recordings at TFF in referee probe Teams from the Istanbul Financial Crimes Department began reviewing camera recordings of the VAR room and referee corridors at the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) building in Riva. It was reported that no search was conducted.
  2. TFF issues statement on MHK investigation The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) said it supported the Referees File investigation in which 7 people, including Central Referee Committee (MHK) Chair Ferhat Gündoğdu, were detained.
  3. Ex-referee Deniz Ateş Bitnel called as witness Former referee Deniz Ateş Bitnel announced he was invited to the Istanbul Police Department as a witness in the Referees File investigation.
  4. Messages requesting exam questions examined in referees file In the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's "referees file" investigation, messages in which a referee asked Ferdi Karadoruk, the president of the TFF Active Referees Association, for referee exam questions were examined. The correspondence does not show that the questions were sent to the referee.
