Ali Tarakcı arrested, social media account blocked

Ali Tarakcı was arrested by the Ankara 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace on a charge of publicly disseminating misleading information in the investigation over his post saying "A very important minister will resign on Friday." His social media account was also blocked.

According to EngelliWeb data from the Freedom of Expression Association, at least 80 X accounts including Kısa Dalga were blocked in Türkiye. YENİ Party leader Özgür Özel criticised the decisions and called on X and Instagram.

Access blocked to 111 X accounts over stock market posts

According to Milat, following coordinated efforts by the Communications Directorate, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office imposed an access ban on 111 X accounts reported to have made "manipulative stock market posts" on social media.

Turkish Psychiatric Association: Access block requested on our X account

The association announced that, as part of the "Ailem Güvende" investigation, a request was first made to block access to CETAD's X account and then to its own. The association, which has 7,138 members, said that restricting access to scientific health information poses a risk to public health.
