The Ordu Environmental Association claimed that chemical-laden water from gold exploration drilling in the districts of Aybastı, Korgan and Kabataş was discharged onto pastureland without oversight, and that three cows died after being poisoned. The association said it had brought the matter to the attention of the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
Lawyer Haluk Türkmen stated that they applied to the provincial directorate, but institutions are passing responsibility to each other. The association claims that chemically contaminated waters were discharged onto pastures and three cattle died.
