According to a report by BirGün, students from different grade levels are being taught in the same classroom at 4 primary schools in Ankara; at three village schools in Mamak, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades have been combined. Low student numbers were cited as the reason, while educators said the practice lowers the quality of education.
At the Yunus Müftü, Ortaköy and Zeki Tartaç primary schools in Mamak, a single teacher teaches all four grades at once. A similar situation exists at a fourth school, Sıdıka Hatun Primary School. Educators stress that the practice lowers the quality of education.
