Jailed İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor and presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu released a three-minute video about the 2-year-1-month prison sentence he received on September 11, 2026, in the Tuzla case, in which he had twice been acquitted, and emphasized that the judge had been changed during the proceedings. His wife, Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, had called for his release.
