According to a report by Evrensel, the TRNC Council of Ministers amended port regulations; the requirement for company registration in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) will not be sought until year-end for temporary route permits granted to Turkish-flagged vessels. The regulation came 18 days after what the paper called the "Filo Jet disaster."
The regulation came after the Filo Jet disaster and lifted the requirement to establish a company in the KKTC for temporary line permits until the end of the year. The decision took effect with the amendment to the port legislation by the Council of Ministers.
