President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Türkevi in New York. Erdoğan said efforts to revive direct negotiations will continue and that steps are needed for navigation security in the Black Sea.

The Presidency's Directorate of Communications conveyed that Türkiye is ready to do its utmost for lasting peace. It also stated that attacks on commercial vessels are unjustifiable and that responsible conduct is expected from the parties. The Ukraine-Russia war and bilateral relations were also discussed in the meeting.
