Seven district mayors in Ankara resigned from CHP following Mansur Yavaş. CHP's Müslim Sarı had said that the mayors must make their affiliation clear.
The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayor had not attended the event on September 9 and met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that same day. He also reported speaking with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel.
