In an operation against al-Qaeda and ISIS in Istanbul, 11 suspects were detained.
In the operation carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence branches, suspects found to be linked to conflict zones and to have made posts praising the organisations on social media were caught. In searches at the addresses, numerous digital materials, 1 kama knife and 8 bullets were seized.

Mithat Sinan Bolak, an untried defendant in the Istanbul Municipality case, was detained at Istanbul Airport upon arrival on a flight from Britain at 05.00 a.m. and taken to Çağlayan Courthouse. His lawyer Naim Karakaya said his statement was expected in Silivri.
