Azerbaijan's Civil Aviation Agency said it suspended flights by Iranian companies due to US sanctions on Iran's aviation sector. Iranian media reported that all flights between Iran and the UAE had been cancelled.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had said that centres serving Iranian aircraft would be excluded from the American banking system. Tehran-Baghdad and Tehran-Muscat flights had been suspended on 23 September. Flights to Qatar and Georgia have also stopped, while some flights to Türkiye continue.
