Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu called on OIC member states to develop relations with the KKTC and lift the isolations imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people.
Speaking at the annual coordination meeting of OIC foreign ministers held within the framework of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Ertuğruloğlu said the Turkish Cypriot people had been subjected to systematic persecution and isolation between 1963 and 1974. He stated that Türkiye's intervention in 1974 saved the lives of both Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots.
