Istanbul Governorship

The Governor of Istanbul is a civil service state official responsible for both national government and state affairs in Istanbul Province. Similar to the governors of Türkiye's other 80 provinces, the Governor of Istanbul is appointed by the Government of Türkiye and is responsible for the implementation of government legislation within Istanbul. The Governor is also the highest commander of both the Istanbul provincial police force and the Istanbul Gendarmerie.

The Istanbul Governorship reported a landslide at a construction site in Alkent 2000 on 19 September around 18:40, killing 39-year-old A.M. under debris and injuring 28-year-old B.M. The construction firm's owner, site supervisor, and an employee were detained.
