Prosecutor Uçuk surrenders to courthouse, travel ban imposed against him

Türkşad Kunthan Uçuk suspended from duty, detention order issued

The Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) Second Chamber unanimously decided to temporarily suspend Bozova Public Prosecutor Türkşad Kunthan Uçuk from duty for three months. Afterward, the Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation for "insulting a public official" and issued a detention order.

New service-score-based system introduced for judge and prosecutor appointments

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced that with the HSK's 16 September decision, service points and point rankings will be the basic criterion in judge and prosecutor assignments, and the east-west distinction will be removed. The new system will take effect with the 2027 Annual Decree.
