Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is the ministry responsible for agriculture and forestry affairs in the Republic of Türkiye. It works under the Presidency and was restructured by Presidential Decree No. 1. It was formed by the merger of the ministries of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and of Forestry and Water Affairs.

Yumaklı: Crop production forecast exceeds 140 million tons

Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı said this year's crop production forecast has exceeded 140 million tons, the highest figure in the history of the Republic. Yumaklı also noted that Türkiye ranks 7th globally in agricultural output.

Uncultivated agricultural lands being leased out seasonally

Under Law No. 5403 and the relevant regulation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is leasing out agricultural lands that have remained uncultivated for two consecutive years on a seasonal basis, with lease payments made to their owners; the announcement process that began on September 1 continues.

New Turkish Food Codex rules on dairy and meat products published in Official Gazette

Two communiqués published in the Official Gazette reduced fat classes for drinking milk to four and restricted the use of sugar and syrup; rules on döner labeling and fat ratio in meat products were also revised. Businesses will have until March 31, 2027 to comply.
