Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said the resignation claims were baseless. The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Disinformation Combat Center announced that a judicial process is being carried out against those who spread these claims.
Şimşek wrote that speculative news targeting economic stability should not be given credence. The center stated that posts claiming the minister submitted his resignation or had such a request do not reflect the truth. Earlier, some journalists had claimed that a minister would resign on Friday.
