Uçum points to 29th Legislative Term after 2028 for new constitution

In an analysis for Anadolu Agency, Chief Presidential Advisor and Deputy Chair of the Legal Policies Board Mehmet Uçum argued that a new constitution is "inevitable"; without ruling out the 28th term, he pointed to the 29th Legislative Term after the 2028 elections as a more realistic target.

Tanrıkulu and Erbakan call for accountability over fund crisis

Denizkurdu-I/2026 exercise on September 20–25: 100 ships, 14,000 personnel

The Defence Ministry (MSB) announced that the Denizkurdu-I/2026 exercise will take place on September 20–25 with 100 ships, 50 aircraft, and 14,000 personnel. According to an announcement by the Naval Forces Command, the exercise will be conducted simultaneously in the Black Sea, Marmara, Aegean, and Eastern Mediterranean.

Kurtulmuş: Monitoring and verification commission to be established upon Parliament's opening

4 detained in Kozinoğlu investigation, prosecutor's office announces charges

The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced 4 people were detained in Istanbul and Tekirdağ in the investigation into former intelligence agency MİT official Kaşif Kozinoğlu, who died in prison in 2011; charges include "intentional killing", forming a criminal organization, and violating Law No. 2937. Two former prosecutors were previously arrested.
