New Welfare Party Istanbul deputy Doğan Bekin resigned as deputy chairman and central executive board member. Bekin said his resignation came at the request of Chairman Fatih Erbakan.
At a press conference at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Bekin criticized Deputy Chairman Suat Kılıç's remarks on the Feb. 28 process and Necmettin Erbakan in books Kılıç wrote. He said he had asked Kılıç to apologize to the National Vision community but was told there was no need.
