The 11 suspects detained in the investigation into the seizure of personal data of traffic accident victims were referred to the courthouse. The investigation found that powers of attorney were obtained from 253,000 people and 15.6 billion lira in illicit gains were made.
The suspects are expected to begin giving statements to prosecutors as part of the investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek had announced on September 21 that searches and detentions had been launched at 6 law offices and 20 companies in Istanbul, Ankara, Sakarya and Gaziantep.
