One more suspect detained in Divriği missing infant investigation

In the investigation into an 11-month-old infant missing since September 10 in Divriği, Sivas, a suspect was detained in Diyarbakır based on statements from siblings under state protection. According to Hürriyet, six suspects including the mother and father have been arrested.

Six arrested in bribery investigation targeting Antalya narcotics unit

According to DW Turkish, an operation ordered by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office resulted in the arrest of six people, including current and former heads of the Narcotics Division; the allegations are based on correspondence dating from February 2023 to September 2026.

METU student groups issue statement against road project through the forest

Following the resumption of work on a road planned to connect Dumlupınar Boulevard to the Niğde Motorway and passing through METU Forest, a joint statement signed by 41 METU constituent bodies claimed the project would disrupt the forest's ecological integrity.

Data operation targets company supplying software to unions: 5 detained

Coordinated by intelligence agency MİT, the Cybersecurity Directorate and the Gendarmerie General Command raided Ankara-based Aydo Yazılım; five people, including the company owner and employees, were detained. It was determined that a query interface allowing access to third parties' data had been added to the software.

Istanbul-led operation in 20 provinces targets organized crime: 178 detained

On September 14, an operation led from Istanbul across 20 provinces targeted 12 separate "new generation" organized crime groups, detaining 178 suspects; searches turned up weapons, ammunition and narcotics. Of 42 people detained in a Muğla-based operation, 20 were referred to the courthouse.

Parents arrested in investigation into missing 11-month-old baby in Sivas

Six people, including the parents of an 11-month-old baby reported missing in Divriği on September 10, were arrested, while three suspects were released under judicial control. The baby has not yet been found; a gag order is in place on the case.

Killing of three people in Antalya's Korkuteli: suspect caught in forest

A man reported to have shot dead his wife, from whom he was in the process of divorcing, along with her mother and father with a hunting rifle in Korkuteli, was detained while hiding in a forest near the scene. Reports said the suspect had been subject to a restraining order.

MP Tanrıkulu: hours-long queues for 1 kilo of meat in Diyarbakır

Yeni Parti Diyarbakır MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu said that mostly retired citizens have been queuing since 5 a.m. in front of the Meat and Milk Authority branch in Kayapınar, that ground beef costs 400 lira and cubed meat 450 lira per kilo, and that not everyone gets served.

İSKİ data: Istanbul reservoir occupancy falls to 38.32%

According to İSKİ's September 17 data, average occupancy at reservoirs supplying Istanbul fell from 38.61% the previous day to 38.32%. The highest rate, 66.1%, was recorded at Elmalı, and the lowest, 4.24%, at Pabuçdere Dam.

Report: Türkiye's greenhouse gas emissions rose 4.2% in 2025

According to a report by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, Türkiye's emissions reached 610.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2025; this was the highest percentage increase among the 16 largest emitting countries. The global increase over the same period was 0.7%.
