According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, the foreign trade deficit rose 22.3% year-on-year in August to about $5.2 billion. The deficit in the first eight months of the year reached about $65.8 billion.
In August, exports rose 8.1% to about $23.5 billion and imports rose 10.5% to about $28.7 billion. The export-import coverage ratio fell to 81.7%. Türkiye's top export destination was Germany.
