Labour and Social Security Minister Vedat Işıkhan said they target about 2.1 million additional jobs in the 2027-2029 period and aim to cut the unemployment rate to 7.6% in 2029.
According to August data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the unemployment rate was 7.8% and youth unemployment was 13%. Employment reached 32.507 million people, and the labour force participation rate reached 52.5%.
