The Turkish Trade Ministry announced new rules against fake reviews that mislead consumers in online shopping. Under the rules, only buyers will be able to post reviews, and sellers that break them will face administrative penalties.

The rule is set out in Article 28/B of the Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices Regulation and is applied through the 'Guideline on Consumer Reviews'. Reviews will be published only on condition of purchase, with no distinction between positive and negative.
