Former DEM Party Tunceli MP Alican Önlü was detained in Ovacık, where he had gone for a funeral. According to Evrensel, the reason was non-payment of a 7,080 lira judicial fine imposed for insulting Süleyman Soylu.
Önlü was taken to the Ovacık District Police Directorate after his vehicle was stopped. It was stated that he would be released if he paid the fine, and would serve a 354-day prison sentence if he did not.
