Former referee Süleyman Abay, testifying as a witness in the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's probe into the Central Referee Committee (MHK), made statements about Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu and MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu.

Abay stated that Hacıosmanoğlu accused him of being a FETÖ member during his term as Trabzonspor chairman. Abay was reported to have said a decision not to prosecute was issued on that accusation.
