The trade union confederation Türk-İş's September survey put a family of four's monthly food spending at 37,801 lira and total essential expenses at 123,130 lira.
Based on prices in Ankara, the survey put a single worker's monthly cost of living at about 48,885 lira. Kitchen spending rose 1.1% on the month and 35.1% on the year.
